Magneto / Starter Switches Stuck

Recommended Posts

I'm having problems with the starter switches.  I can shut down the engines and restart them.  However, if I shut down the engines and the airplane and save the flight, when I load the saved flight with the cold/dark airplane, the starter/magneto switches are non-functional.  The cursor will change when hovering above the switches, but the switches will not respond to left or right clicks, click and drag, etc.  The battery and other switches work, as well as the mixture controls, parking brake, etc., but the starter switches remain stuck.  If I use Control - E, the switches move and the engines will start.  Otherwise the engines can't be started using the starter switches.

Anyone else having this problem, or can duplicate it?

Thanks

I since recalled that upon loading the saved flight and trying to start the engines, on my first attempt to start I had forgotten to adjust the mixture controls -- they were in the fully leaned position.  When the first engine didn't start I realized my "pilot error" and adjusted the mixture.  On the next attempt to start the engines, the starter/mag switches froze.

I duplicated the problem this morning, but in trying to isolate the problem this afternoon everything seems to be working!  I've tried loading other aircraft that had been in use around the time of the problem and then reloading the saved problem flight, and I've tried other various "scenarios."  But I can't get the starter switches to stick again.  I have no idea of what's going on, but I promise that those switches were non-functional!

Thanks, bob, for the test.

Sorry forgot to mention I'm using PrePar3D ver 3.33. After re-reading your original post noticed 'FSX Accel, Windows 7 64 bit' so different Flight-Sims,

So you could do with someone with the same FS to check it.

Stuck again!  I loaded up several add-ons and got the starter switches stuck again.  I switched airplanes to the Corsair F4U and that magneto switch was also frozen.

Conclusion for now is that it is not a problem with the aircraft, but with my overloading RAM (16 gigabytes).
