FPS issues

Recommended Posts

Hello

I am getting really bad Frames in Xplane Steam.

Specs:

i7-4790k @4.0Ghz

AMD R9 290

X-plane is on a HDD

https://thomaskal.gyazo.com/a350cf598850cd8aac9ea97a61d5e6a4

Every setting is on almost the lowest, and sitting in the VC of a Jar-Design's A320 I get 30-45fps.

Is there anything I can do besides overclocking my processor to change this. I have watched videos on YouTube of people with i7-4790k's @ 4.4Ghz

Does .4Ghz really make that much of a difference in FPS?

It may be your vid card, if I remember correctly AMD and XP dont get along and that could be because of driver issues.

I've seen posts of people having fps issues with AMD.

The real fps killer on my system (i7-2600/3.4GHz / GTX970) is HDR, accompanied by high AA. Most of the other sliders are secondary.

Kind regards, Michael

Yeah. But that is 30-45fps with no groud textures at all lol. Just a flat airstrip with no buildings XD

I was about to say 30-45fps is good, but yes with no settings on high it does seem pretty low

On everything maxed out on my Macbook Pro (except clouds) I will get about 15-20fps with an NVidia card. With everything on low, around 60. I remember though as others have said, that AMD/ATI cards don't perform well in X-Plane. My previous computer had an AMD card and performance was dismal.

Yeah. Same for FSX and P3D. Unfortunately I will have to wait for my GTX 1070 until Christmas when they are back in stock, and at standard price in the Canadian market. Thanks for your help guys :)
