Gents,

A few folks have asked about Prepar3D.

We do not yet know if the P3D version will release concurrent to the FSX/FSX-SE release, or if there might be schedule lag between them.  It is simply too early to tell.

We will let you know as the Prepar3D version begins to move through testing, so you won't have to guess.

We use FSX as our primary development platform for this product, but we have already made changes to allow the product to work in Prepar3D, using many of the new P3D tools that have been developed.

In a perfect world we would release both at the same time- but we shall have to wait and see if perfection is reality.

PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM

Thanks Robert!

Im still solidly an FSX (Boxed) Pilot, and during the last few years bought add-on's to increase the life span and shortcomings of FSX, i think i am now in a happy place, im not going to upgrade to Win10, Win 7 is excellent and running my 777 and 737 with these systems have created this "happy place" feeling.

I love my 777, and 737, before the release of the 777, my long range aircraft of choice was the 747, my VA still has many in operation, so cant wait to get my hands on the new version, i am sure that i will have a huge learning curve again, as was evident with the 777.

I dont want to start a this developer product is better than that one or vice versa, i believe its up the individual, some loves the eye candy others again wants the systems, i think this is where PMDG is better than most other developers as they cater for both. When i fly i am mainly on the flightdeck, and not too worried about if the repaint is exactly as per the real world, but the systems and flow is important to me.

I am happy that we have to wait, because at the end of the day you are getting an aircraft that is spot on, and it gives one when you sit down in the left hand seat that feeling knowing that so many hours have gone into this product and that RW pilots, engineers, maintenance people have used this product and according to them everything works as it should!

Good luck for the next stage of this development!

Kind regards

I have a question for you guys, in October last year you said:

We are starting to see more and more functionality added to Prepar3D v3 that separates the platform from the capabilities we have traditionally had available to us- and we are starting to work on taking advantage of these changes.

Will there be any P3D specific features that the 747 v2 takes advantage of?

will this DLC be available on steam?

DLC?  I doubt PMDG will use Dovetail as a marketing channel if that is the question.

And if my experience last two days with getting support from them is anything to go by, I most certainly hope DTG is bypassed!

I can admit the 777 has become one of my favorite aircraft, but the 747 is the queen of the skies, and looking fondly back to the original fs9 747 pmdg product, I can't wait to finally fly her in fsx/p3d with all the latest technology like weather and terrain. Even being able to see the registration and selcal placard in the cockpit compared to the old queen for fs9 then ported to fsx is exciting me! Lets hope it's a smooth transition from alpha to beta and then to my computer sometime this summer. - David Lee

We do not use DTG's DLC system in Steam, it'll be sold on our website initially and eventually via partners like Aerosoft.

Perfection is reality thy name is PMDG.

How complete is the tech testing? Obviously not complete since they didn't catch the fbw issue in the 777. I could see a late August release of course I am only guessing and hoping. - David Lee
