Phenom 100 update 2.0 out, now with Navigraph extension option

Recommended Posts

Please let us know of your finding with Carenado. I do have the 3 folders that Specialist was talking about. When I load up the aircraft the display is showing something like June 2014 for nav data.

Unfortunately performance is poor in V2 also ... V1 used to have an option to disable each PFD and/or MFD ... I would click under the left top panel screw.  That feature seems to be NOT working now?  I can't find any way to turn OFF the MFD and/or PFD -- important if I want to see acceptable FPS from my setup.

I love what the G1000 has to offer, but it's a significant performance drag when compared to the GTN750.

Any hints?  Or should I just go about making panel.cfg edits?

Cheers, Rob.

Yikes why did they do that - I tried also but the small click spot no longer works to shut off co-pilot MFD

and now I don't know which cycle I'm using. Opened a ticket in Carenado Support site yesterday night, and the ticket is still open (no response).

Go to the CarenadoNavigraph folder in P3D (or FSX) and click on Navigraph and then NavData.  Click on cycle_info.

I downloaded the V2 update and bought the Navigraph extension since it's so cheap right now.  But I'm afraid to install.  I've made a number of changes to the original (popup rxpGNS to load flight plans / SIDS / STARS, implemented an xml gauge to synch the CDI to the rxpGNS source and I did a custom repaint of one of the textures).

Carenado says to uninstall the original first.  I'm not sure how to do that.  Is there a way to change the filenames on the installed version so I can have both versions installed?  I have multiple back ups of all the critical FSX folders and even a clone SSD but I'm still leery of messing it up.  BTW I don't have any performance issues with the original version at all.

Thanks!

Hi Jim:

Thanks. I did that, but for some reason the opening screen on the MFD keeps showing the navdata is from June 2014. Probably that screen is just a picture.

Hi all:

For those of you who might want to install the GTN750 gauge on the MFD, you can do the following:

1. Copy your panel.CFG folder inside the Phenom 100 folder and paste it on the same folder

2. Rename that new folder to panel.GTN

3. Leave just the files named "info.bmp" and "panel.CFG" inside the newly created panel.GTN folder (two files). Delete the remaining files.

3. Open the panel.CFG inside the newly created panel.GTN folder (using Notepad or similar) and edit as follows:

[Window Titles]
Window00=PFD Panel
Window01=MFD Panel
Window02=GFD Mode Controller
Window03=Toggle_Control
Window04=INFO
Window05=ENGINE SETUP
Window06=START
Window07=EFIS
Window09=Flight1 Garmin GTN750 U1 <---- Add this line

Add this complete new section after the last line of [Windows08] section on the same panel.CFG file inside the panel.GTN folder:

[Window09]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=545,475
window_size_ratio=1.000
position=0
visible=0
ident=14401

window_size= 0.345, 0.525
window_pos= 0.010, 0.020
zorder=0

gauge00=F1GTN!GTN750, 0,0,545,475,UNIT1.POP

(This new section is to have a popup of the GTN750 when required, please read below)

Now edit the section [Vcockpit02] further down, exactly in the following way:

[Vcockpit02]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=512,512
visible=0
pixel_size=1024,1024

texture=$Panel_2

//gauge00=EMB500_G1000!G1000_configEMBP100,          0,0,    1,  1
//gauge01=EMB500_G1000!G1000_MFDEMBP100VC,              1,    4, 512, 350
gauge01=F1GTN!GTN750, 3,18,521,308,UNIT1.VC
//gauge02=EMB500_G1000!COMMON_UPDATE_G1000MFD,    0,  0,   1,  1

//gauge03=EMB500CAR!ToggleCARG1100,                 64,0, 380,  32
gauge04=CAREMB500_G1000!GPS_Twas,                  0,0,   1,   1

(This new section is to have the GTN750 gauge installed in place of the MFD on the VC). If you want a popup the 2D GTN750 into your screen, look for a clickspot located to the upper left side of the MFD frame, just under the bezel buttons of the GTN.

4. Place any of your F1GTN.ini files (from the folder of any other aircraft you have with the GTN already installed) into your Phenom 100 aircraft folder.

5. Edit at least one of your livery entries in the aircraft.CFG file of the Phenom 100 folder, and in "panel=" line, add "GTN", to look like "panel=GTN", for example:

[fltsim.2]
title=Carenado E50P Phenom 100 N358JS GTN
sim=P100
model=
panel=GTN <---- Added GTN here!

........

........

(In this way, your livery with registration N359JS will show the GTN750 on the aircraft MFD). You can do the same for all the liveries of entries you have.

Try this at your own risk. It is working perfectly for me.

Cheers, Ed

If you want to see a picture of the modified panel with the GTN750, look at this link, that also shows the location of the clickspot for the 2D pop-up GTN:

IMPORTANT:
-Customers should retrieve a new serial entering to their accounts at www.carenado.com - "My Products" section (old serials are no longer valid).
...

Wait what..?

I did not buy this from Carenado, I purchased at PC Aviator.  The product has been updated, but my order still shows the original serial number. WTH?

Hey Carlos, I had similar message when I tried getting the extension pack. The serial number I got on my original email when I bought the product, and the serial number that shows on my Carenado account for the Phenom was different, so I use the one from Carenado and it worked.

For those who are saying that their Nav Cycle is not updating, I guess you have to make sure the Navigraph Manager is being mapped correctly, because mine is and my DavData shows the current cycle.

I've just had to edit the effects files to stop the Strobes from appearing as squares. ( wrong bmp references )

You'd have thought that having shown them their writing error on version 1 they would have made the correction months ago.

Happily -  tweaked my graphics card I'm getting decent frame rates now.

What tweaking did you apply to your graphic cards Nippa?

thank you!

Specialist are you verifying this in the carenadonavigraph folder or is there a way to verify inside the cockpit?

Actually , this time I just let the Nvidia card go with  application settings in the easy mode on the Nvidia Control Panel as I'd seen some unusual stuttering with several aircraft.

Perhaps I'd been overtweaking!

Hi Kevin, I verified this in the carenadonavigraph folder. I haven't figured out how you can tell on the cockpit what the actual cycle is. I did fly from KLAS to KSAN using current real world flight plans, and it worked just fine. It followed all waypoints from departure to arrival procedures. Unless I'm missing something, or I'm blind, which my wife has accused me off before, I can't see on the display the current cycle data info.
