Good prop for water landings

Recommended Posts

Can someone suggest a good prop plane for water take offs and landings?  I just got Orbx's new free CAC8 Nanaimo Water Aerodrome.

Thanks,

Howard

The Lionheart Quest Kodiak is quite good.

If You have the GTN750, add Bert's mod and you have a winner.

Cheers.

Bert, I didn't know you provide a GTN mod for the Kodiak as well. I put one in myself but your solution will for sure be superior.

To the OP, Carenados C185F is still nice IMO.

The Aerosoft Beaver for FSX installs easily into P3D. Great aircraft.

I have read several posts that say the changes made in P3D version 3.2 and 3.3 make the water too sticky, and the Cub will barely takeoff.

Realair Scout?

Will the Kodiak work in P3D version 3, on one site that sells it it states this:      This aircraft's MFD / GPS screen presently will not work in Prepar3D V2.1 (Updated) simulator. It does work fine in V1.4 and V2.0, but not V2.1

The Aerosoft Beaver for FSX installs easily into P3D. Great aircraft.

On the Aerosoft forum it says you most likely have to use the immigration tool to install into P3D. Is that how you did it, because I hate to start using that took.

Wouldn't touch the migration tool. I just created a dummy FSX.exe file in a temp folder. Installed the beaver and it accepted the temp. Then just copy the files and subfolders ( Simobjects, etc) from temp to P3d - good to go.

I could have just put the dummy fsx.exe file in P3D and have it install directly but I want to see what is being installed and the temp folder works perfectly.

I run the Kodiak in P3D 3.3 with no issues.

Got the Beaver flying already. I installed it just the way you said, and it worked perfectly. The only thing I was missing were three gauges on the panel, and I found a link to downloading a cab file to fix that problem. Everything works perfectly. http://www.flyaka.com/forums/index.php?/topic/400-aerosoft-dhc2-missing-gauges-in-p3dv3/&do=findComment&comment=2115

Got the Beaver for $10 right from Aerosoft. .
