I like the stratus okay but, do those TCU look a little weird?

Ya something isn't right, it looks like a bunch of small clouds smashed together to make the TCU look big.

I hate to say it, but those Cumulus clouds look terrible. Far too busy, with odd shading and like nothing I've seen in nature.

I'd have to agree with the above. The cloud textures don't look right to me. Kind of hard looking like the older generations of REX clouds that looked like they were pasted into the sky.

How's in-cloud performance compared to ASN?

No significant difference here, but I do avoid loading 4096 textures.

And there's a wide variety of cloud textures to chose from.

Thanks for the answer, Wayne.  I was hoping for an increase in performance in broken / ovc ceiling. Will still buy AS16/ASCA tho.

cheers

I agree with the above comments. The clouds do not look convincing for a 2016 product.

I think i'll use REX's new Force Product and use AS16's WX engine......REX + HiFi has always been a great combo .

I was thinking the same but you need ASCA if you want it AS16 to be able to load new texture sets on the fly, it's part of the integration. If you use the new REX product it will work but without the realtime texture changes.

I have to admit I am a bit disappointed in the shots Vic posted as the clouds don't look that good to me.
