fsx-ms FSX FPS IMPROVEMENT!?

Hey! I just had a question. Does anyone know how I can bump up my FPS because I think my computer does fairly well considering its a 2.5ghz dual intel core with 4gb ram i believe. In a pmdg 737 at fsdt jfk I get about 10 -12 fps sometimes if its like clear weather. Are there any programs to help with it? 

 

BTW: Ik 10-20 fps doesn't seem like a lot but trust me it's smoother than you think. only like 1-9 fps looks really bad

Don't get me wrong: FSX + PMDG + FSDT JFK with dual core at 2.5ghz... hm... sorry, but no cure for that

I wasn't going to touch this one, but for the sake of talking points, perhaps checking your graphics settings within the simulator and moving the sliders back a little can help.  In short, it all depends on how detailed you want your sim to look.  High settings for AI traffic will affect frames, as well as mesh resolution, autogen density, cloud draw distance.  There are plenty, and I mean plenty of guides circulating the net that outline how best to set up your sim, but be watchful for ones that show you how to set the sim based on your hardware.

I know I'll get Flamed and Poo Poo'd about this - and I'm Not Promising a Massive rise in FPS, But You may be able to Squeeze a few more FPS with a Little Program called FSXBooster, Its about $10us, and could be just what You are Looking for - What I like about it is that it Tweaks Your Computer "On the Fly", and considers Where You are Flying and, what You are Flying. Having said all this, I must agree With all of the above, You might want to consider a 3+ghz Processor UPgrade, and another 4gig of Ram, if Your MoBo will support it, and even Possibly a New Video card, 2gb ( GT 600 and GT 700 cards are pretty cheap on Ebay ). However I think the $10 Dollar Hot Fix, would be a Good Place to Start - What is Your Operating System ??

Anything can always help, it's to what degree that matters.  I personally can't support this program as I got taken in by the clever marketing of it when it first came out, but my FSX install didn't benefit at all and quickly went into my digital graveyard.  Maybe others had better luck with it, but I'm more of a firm believer that if your slider settings can't make a difference, then you may want to look at better hardware, which will make a difference.

Hey Jordan,

Just trying to Help, I have been around Computers for several Decades, and am a Firm believer in " If it Works, Work it ", and If it ain't Broke Don't Fix it" !!, Love the Software sales, and most of the Hardware comes off EBay. this Hobby can be VERY Expensive, but, if I use My Poor Wore out "Pea Brain", I can get by, pretty reasonable !! Good Luck , and Let Us know how You make out !!

 

Thanks Jim, I did Pick up about 20fps, using FSX/P3DBooster, in Fsx, Fsx se, and P3d v 1..4, on My Poor tired, Wore Out "Happy Rig", You might want to dig it out and try it again. Best I can do with what I can Afford !! I Love Play'in on the Low End !!
