Error updating database "MSCOMCTL.OCX"

Recommended Posts

I just purchased a subscription to realnavdata.

I’m getting an error when trying to update the database. It show the progress reach 100% then I get an error about “MSCOMCTL.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered”

I did some researching on my own and tried to register it through a command prompt with no luck following the instructions at...

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/component-mscomctlocx-or-one-of-its-dependencies/4ae4dfc4-4a67-4927-990e-489cdb070efb?auth=1

  • 430/530 showing as activated
  • P3D V3.3
  • Windows 10 64bit
  • The gps is installed in the A2A C172/C182 and shows up and functions just fine with an outdated database.

I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do to fix this.

I appreciate any help.

Thanks. Received email with remote desktop instructions, awaiting coordination for time frame.

While waiting for an email response, I was able to correct the issue myself.

solution...

Run the mindstar installer and select remove software

Reinstall the software then run the activation and Re-Activate

Doing this fixed the above problem. I was able to download the latest cycle and now my database is up to date.
