NEWBIE.. What pc to buy for FSX

Recommended Posts

Since you already want a PC ready to go and designed for flight simulation I would check out Jetline Systems.  That's their specialty.

Eugene could you do me another one on pc specialist as I have no clue and see if you can get it around the £500 mark? please :)

For £541 inc vat. PC Specialist do a base level "gaming" PC - This is the spec

The Vortex 500 Gaming PC

Specification Snapshot:

It would run FSX, I'm sure - even though I'm not familiar with the graphics card - but stock, non enhanced FSX was running on much more lowly computers back in 2007.

Of course the other consideration is graphics - you won't be running with all the sliders on max with this machine. But the biggest consideration is all the great add-ons that are now available - some of them when combined together can bring the fastest of PC's to it's knees.

But with the stock default aircraft, and going easy on the graphics complexity, it would work - but maybe haveing looked at screenshots of what FSX is capable of on a high spec machine it might leave you dissatisfied?

I agree.

This would likely run FSX just fine - without too many substantial addons..

So, that is the trade-off.

If you want to experience flying, you can add a quality payware airplane that does not

add substantial load, like a RealAir Marchetti or Scout, and have a great flying experience.

Most users (including the OP) start adding scenery, airports, avionics, traffic, weather, and airliners,

and that is what "breaks the camel's back"..

Hi guys,

Thank you again for taking your time out to respond to me, sounds like I need to hit around the 1000 mark to get the real experience.

If I wanted triple monitors would this effect the speed, would I need a better pc to be able to cope with this?

Would a 1000 machine do the job?

Looks like intel it is!!!

where do you get this pay ware you speak off Bert?

Also whats the most secure add on site for FSX?

James,

Running three monitors will require a more powerful graphics card which pushes up the cost.

Spending the extra on the CPU (i7 4790K overclocked) would be wiser than buying multiple displays. Those can be added later once funds are available.

James,

Before you press that 'purchase now' button you may want to run your prospective system past the experts here.
