Hyper Threading Off?

Been going around the internet and just found out that turning off hyperthreading may increase perfomance. I wanted to try it but could not manage to turn it off, can someone please help me!!

It should be an enable/disable setting in the bios. Look under CPU features.

I turn it off on my 6700K, I use no FPS increase but I get a lot more heat even with my Corsair water cooler.

I have an ASUS Z77 motherboard that I use to OV my i7-3770k. I'm not sure if my HT is on or off, but should it be on or off for better performance? I play other games too, not only flight simming, so I'm not sure which setting would be more beneficial for me.

I would always set HT=on if you use the PC for other stuff then P3D.

 

For P3D only one can argue that you get lower temps with HT off and therefore more room for overclocking and therefore more single core performance.

 

However I get a lot less blurries with HT on and the decrease in FPS from 4.7 GHz to 4.3 GHz (on the i7 6700K) are not really hard.

So I personally go with HT on. Otherwise one could simply go for an i5....

Just remember what the first 4 letters of the word hyperthreading are. The video posted above neglects to mention a key point, that if one runs two threads on one physical core, they run at only very slightly better than half speed of one thread running on one physical core. For flight sim apps, the improvement is negligible, if any.
