Installing Legacy Aircraft.

Recommended Posts

I have quite a few legacy aircraft left over from FS9 and FSX that do not have installer packages included and require manual installation so the Migration Tool will not work.

I have tried to install them but they do not show up in the installed aircraft list.

I will greatly appreciate any help the forum can provide me to accomplish their installs.

If I need to change the graphics type I can do this

I really need guidance

Thanks,

Dale

I'm not the expert on which aircraft work in P3D but what aircraft are you trying to install?

Hey Dale,

Most FSX Aircraft will install and work in P3d, Fs9 Not Necessarily, First Which Version of P3D are You using??, Next Where on Your Computer are Your Aircraft Files Located??. As in, In a working Fs9, or Fsx Flight Sim??, or in a Random Aircraft File Located on Your Hard Drive. Which ever way, We need the Complete Aircraft's file, including model, Panel, Sound and Textures. Next We need the Gauges, and finally the Effects! After We have these Items Located, We can Simply, Select them, and Drag and Drop them into Your, Simobjects\Aircraft folder, Effects, and Gauges, are dropped into their own P3D Folders

If We are working with an Installer, the files should Install into a Dummy Folder on Your Desktop, Then Dragged and Dropped Into Your P3D folder.

First We need to find out which Brand of P3D You Have, Next Where are the files that You want to install are Located ??

Hey Dale,

I'm afraid that I am going to have to Defer You to someone else, as I Understand that P3D v3.3, Has a File Structure that is Different than I am Familiar with. I would not be able to tell You where to Locate Your Aircraft files in the Program. FSX, and P3Dv1 and 2, all have the same file Structure. If no body else answers, We could work our way through it, I'll watch the thread. Sorry - Johnman B)

Hi Dale,

To my knowledge, FS9  and pre-SP2 FSX aircraft don't work in P3Dv2/v3. Post-SP2 birds should, respecting the file structure.

As a standby procedure, you should've a fsx.exe dummy in your P3D root folder. It can be an empty .txt file that you rename as an .exe. Also,it could be useful to use the Flight1 registry repair tool to tell your aircraft to look for this dummy in the P3D root folder.
