Cessna 441 and Milviz Wx Weather Radar

Recommended Posts

hi

i have recently purchased these two add-ons and i am wondering if anyone has had luck getting the Wx Radar working on the Cessna 441. If so , would you please share how you were able to do it.

thank you

Hi all I figured out how to put  the rex/milviz wx guage in the vc on the 441 mu2 and lear 35

install the guage in these planes per the instructions   then  edit the rxp guage in vc use the 2nd line of the wx weather popup the one without the 2D part. then replace the pop up reality xp with the wx guage and  the wx guage will pop up when you click the reality xp guage in VC

 what this does is run the wx guage screen only inside the reality xp bezel.  the only caveat is the #s at the top of the screen for tilt and range are not visible but all the depicted clouds are.

this also works if you have real airs v2 turbine with the F1 gtn 750 you can use the 2nd gtn as the weather radar   and the range and tilt numbers are visible.    its a neat workaround until DEVs incorporate this in there planes

Inspired by your suggestion I just tried to integrate it a little bit more:

The changes I made to FLYSIM Cessna 441/panel.Main/panel.cfg are:

Replace section [Window03] with:

[Window03]
ident = 71
visible = 0
sizeable = 1
size_mm = 419,381
position = 0
window_size = 0.343511450381679,0.556719107690809
window_pos = 0.65,0.0
gauge00 = MV_WX!WX2D,0,0,419,381,1
gauge01 = MV_WX!WX,64,121,291,205,1

In section [VCockpit29] replace the gauge00 line (gauge01 stays the same; "visible = 0" may be optional, but I have seen it in the updated MU-2B) with:

visible = 0
gauge00=MV_WX!WX,  90,35,330,270

Optionally change the Window03 line in section [Window Titles] to:

Window03=WX Advantage Radar

You can even use the mouse wheel to change range, mode, etc., without clicking on it to get the popup.

The 2D popup does not show weather (only test mode shows the colored piece of pie), but I can change the settings for the VC radar here. And this is the same in the MU-2B and was identical with the Roland's ASN radar gauge, so maybe this is expected. Can anybody point me to a place where this is confirmed? I hoped the Rex/Milviz radar would have removed this limitation.

This might be a problem with my older GPU, but I just turned this into a feature by removing the radar display from the popup and only show the controls:

[Window03]
ident = 71
visible = 0
sizeable = 1
//size_mm = 419,381
size_mm = 419,92
position = 0
//window_size = 0.343511450381679,0.556719107690809
window_size = 0.343511450381679,0.13361258584579416
window_pos = 0.66,0.0
gauge00 = MV_WX!WX2D,0,0,419,381,1
//gauge01 = MV_WX!WX,64,121,291,205,1

Which looks like this when the popup is shown:accoF7K.jpg

The radar works fine without my modifications in version 1.9 of the C441, but if you still want to remove the radar display from the popup and only show the controls, the changes to Window03 are still the same. Here is the result:

[Window03]
ident = 71
visible = 0
sizeable = 1
//size_mm = 419,381
size_mm = 419,92
position = 0
//window_size = 0.343511450381679,0.556719107690809
window_size = 0.343511450381679,0.13361258584579416
//window_pos = 0,0
window_pos = 0.66,0.0
gauge00 = MV_WX!WX2D,0,0,419,381,1
//gauge01 = MV_WX!WX,64,121,291,205,1
