TCAS turns off by itself

Recommended Posts

Hi All!

I recently bought the PMDG 777 for P3D off of Aerosoft, and everything works fine (at least in my eyes) however TCAS seems to be turning off on its own. Yesterday I did a flight from AMS-JFK and I remember turning off TCAS and later I look at the ND and see the warning. Today, I was already roughly 5 hours into the flight without a warning, and then suddenly it appears again. It is not the warning though, the TCAS switch on the pedestal goes back to standby also.

Really it is not a big issue, but for realism needless to say it would be great if it didn't turn off.

Thank you!

It won't turn off by itself. Sounds a lot like you're using some software that interacts with the transponder (vPilot. SB, FSInn, etc), or have some sort of key command that's causing it to do so.

I checked and tried the transponder button (T) but nothing happened,

What does this mean? What program? What is the T button supposed to do? Are you running the various programs as an admin? Have you checked for conflicting key commands?

perhaps I'll install it again.

Better to troubleshoot the actual issue, honestly.
