Oh, a P-38 fly-in at a conspirative airfield*!

I love this series of pictures. Which model of the P-38 do you use, HLJames? It was one of my favourite planes in recent times. I began with Bernd Drefahls model for FS98 and later used David Copley's series of P-38s

* I remember maps in the former GDR, where military installations (as army airports) weren't displayed. We saw the planes and helicopters but didn't exactly know where they came from. Later then we learned that instead of fields and woods there was a Soviet airfield instead. Same here - this is what a well known map server shows at the place of Andras Field:

O.k., that's what the Soviet fields in the former Eastern Bloc probably missed.

I have a home in the airpark that I haven't visited in a while. Could you check on it for me please?

Thanks very much for your comments.....WW2 aircraft had robust landing gear for operating from grass fields!
