AS16 Visibility settings

Hey guys I have purchased as16 and loving it

 

Just a question

I have max surface visibility at 15m

And max upper at 63

Vol fog on

Are those settings realistic?

 

And find it a little hazier than. Expected is realistic?

If i increase its fine but I'de rather have a. Realistic settings as I do mostly fly IFR

These are ok for summer hot months. Once things get a bit cooler, you'd need to increase your settings to meet more realistic settings

Hi Mike

 

I just left mine at the defaults, which is 75 for surface and 100 for upper I think. But  AS16 automatically reduces it if actual visibility is less than that so you don't need to increase or decrease it yourself.

Why 130? P3D natural limit for cloud draw distance is 110

A setting of 130 sometimes helped with the hard edge fog and haze in P3D with ASN. That's been fixed in AS16, so 110 or whatever you prefer is fine. Higher than 150 and your performance will suffer.

Use PTA if you want to eliminate hard edges and add some haze layer.

AS overwrites the P3D value...

You can go up to 200 mls

Any solid proof that AS does really overwrites? How can you overwrite hard-coded limits?

Again, depends on your upper vis. limits. If it's above 110 you'd still need PTA. Specifically during sunset and sunrise. If your upper vis limit is 65, then you're ok maybe with edges on a horizon, however with such limits you most likely will never see a beautiful volumetric fog in the mountains
