Over the Bavarian Alps

Recommended Posts

Hi,

some lazy GA flying with my venerable Bonanza: From EDER Wasserkuppe with a stop in EDDM Munich to LOWI Innsbruck.

FS9Evo

Plane ready at the Wasserkuppe (famous for its early glider activities in the 20ies). Really hilly.

Great pics of a nice trip. One thing  puzzles me: You said "He doesn't...does he?" for the pic of the apron. Do you mean that he might have been going to taxi on the wrong part? Thanks.

... exactly that. I'm not so familiar with planes taxiing that near from the airports I use to visit with my Bonanza.

Thanks HLJames for commenting!

Indeed: At Wasserkuppe, first gliders flew from 1910 on, and much progress in sailing was made from the 20ies on.

And Innsbruck, while not having such a history, has its very own approach and departure procedures due to its situation in the deep Inn valley. I'm still not sure if I did obey them correctly.

Loved them Harald,  always a pleasure. I'm still stuck in the hangar tinkering away.

Thanks Ed!

Time for flying is rare here, too. I hope to be in Moscow before end of summer with that slow plane. :Cuppa:

EDER Wasserkuppe

Thought I had all the Austrian sceneries! Where'd you find that one, Harald?

WingZ, thanks for commenting. EDER is actually no Austrian airport, but in the middle of Germany in Hessen. It's part of Aerosofts Scenery Germany 4. A quite old but no bad scenery, I once bought it on sale...

I am always amazed when I see your screenies and have to tell myself: hey this is not P3D, this is FS9 !!!! Did I mention: superb shots

Harold, really enjoyed your pics.  I would have never known it was FS9 except for the excellent Bonanza.

Hi Bernd, Novation and Carl, thanks for your kind comments!

Yes, if you treat FS9 well, then it looks well.

Umm... now you mention it,  :vava:  thanks for the link nonetheless!

Nice to see a sloping runway in FS (despite no AI possible.)

But you have prompted me to go look at all those wonderful Austrian sceneries again.
