Wrong speeds and QNH

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Bought the Q400 package the other day with the global voice set, but are experiencing a few issues.

I am using the Scandinavian voice set and AS2016. Everytime on preflight checklist and approach checklist when the QNH is set and crosschecked the FO reads back the QNH as 1013 and not the local pressure.

On take off the FO calls out 80 knot and shortly after rotate even though the speed haven´t reached the entered V-speeds calculated from Aurasim.

Hope you can assist with the issues above.

Best regards

Peter

Hi, the FO reads back the value that is set on the baro setting, so even if you speak 1017 set crosscheck and your baro setting is 1013, then the FO will answer 1013.

What units are you using in FSX?

Hi Romain,

The altimeters was set to the local QNH which was 1004 on all 3 baros.

I used hydbrid (feet / milibars), but will try US which I thought it was set to.

The units must be set to hybrid so that Fs2crew works properly.

Let us know.

Peter,

Also make sure you're not getting the "FAIL OUT OF DATE" MESSAGE when you open the FS2Crew Main Panel.

If you get that message, FS2Crew will be unable to read a lot of data out of the aircraft.

The solution is to ensure you have the latest version of the Dash 8 aircraft itself.

You can obtain the latest version from wherever you bought the aircraft.

Rotate call:  Make sure the V speeds are entered properly in the FMC.

That's where FS2Crew pulls the data from.

There is no such thing in the Dash!

The only things with regards to performance that you can enter in the FMS are the ZFW and the fuel weight.

The Vspeed are only entered on the PFD for display like good old speed bugs except that it is a glass display.

Hi guys,

Sorry for the late feedback. I have installed the latest version of MJS Q400 and have flown a few trips and I now get the callouts that have been put in.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards

Peter

Glad you got it sorted

If you don't have the latest version of the plane, a message will briefly flash when you open the FS2Crew Main Panel: FAIL OUT OF DATE.

If you see that, it means you don't have the latest version of the plane, and FS2Crew won't be able to pull much data from the plane.
