August 6, 20169 yr I'm having a new issue.. i have a mostly clean install of P3D V3.3.. when I launch a previously saved flight (p3dv2 or earlier) flt file.. or even a newer save from 3.3, an fxml.. prepar3d will start to load then crash. The event viewer shows KERNELBASE.dll as the fault with exception code 0xc0020001 If i launch prepar3d from its normal shortcut then from the saved flight menu, launch the same flight.. no issue.. If i set prepar3d.exe to be run as admin.. then launch the same file off the hard drive it works. I know many say you need to run as admin, but frankly I ran for years with 3.2 and below with no issues such as this.. usually by setting ownership on folders (which i may need to double check). Any thoughts.. Anyone ran into this? August 6, 20169 yr You are not alone in reporting this. Why this happens is beyond my understanding, because the P3d flight plans are in XML. Either there are very obscure differences in the XML schema for V2 and V3 flight plan files or the Sim Scheduler section in the file causes P3d to get confused. In any case, you already have found the solution.
