Freeware IL-76 panel woes

Recommended Posts

I recently downloaded an allegedly complete IL-76 updated for FSX, but the instrument panel was full of blanks. When examining the panel.cfg, there were gauges listed in non-existent directories (non-existent for me anyway, probably not the uploader!) - they weren't supplied with the aircraft.

I'm currently using an instrument panel for a Comet! Well, at least it has 4 engines and the main instruments are surrounded by a white outline, much the same as the Candid :)

Can I post links to the files? (If not, please let me know)

These are the ones which I tried:-

The second one is the aircraft I'm currently flying.

This panel didn't work either:-

At least the sound set I got for the Solovievs is rather good!

Thanks for investigating Charlie!

No problem!  The first one, the IL-76 updated worked fine.  The 2D panel showed all of the gauges.  NO VC.

The 2nd aircraft you listed also worked and showed all gauges  on the panel.  No "Black holes of

Calcutta" here.  Now probably the reason they work for me is that over the years I have down-loaded and

test flew many aircraft, both designed for FSX and FS2004.  I have put many gauge files into my Main

FSX Gauges folder which help when a panel.cfg call for an FS2004 737-400 gauge like the ones

in these aircraft.

Ah, thanks Charlie. I think you've hit the nail on the head - having obtained many gauges over the years. I would have hoped that the freeware developers (uploaders sells them short I think) might have realised that not everyone has been maintaining different flightsims for the past decade.

Thank you again for your time!
