Looking into buying a GTX 980ti but I don't know which one to get? I'm using Prepard3d with ORBX BASE, ORBX VECTOR, OPEN LC NORTH AMERICA, ASN16 and ASCA and a FEW PAID AIRPORTS.

right now I have a GTX 660 and getting about 20 to 25 FPS with most settings a medium or LOW

Need help from the experts.

I have an EVGA 980ti 6gb and it performs great in P3D, but is now getting old.  There is not enough of a performance increase for me to get a 1080 yet until they release a 1080ti or something faster.  To get the most performance out of any video card you must have other quality components such as the processor, motherboard, ram, and power supply.

Intel i-9 13900KF @ 6.0 Ghz, MSI RTX 4090 Suprim Liquid X 24GB, MSI MAG CORELIQUID C360, MSI Z790 A-PRO WIFI, MSI MPG A1000G 1000W, G.SKILL 48Gb@76000 MHz DDR5, MSI SPATIUM M480 PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 2TB, Windows 11 Pro Ghost Spectre x64

Don't expect a GPU alone will double your frames. Maybe the CPU is a bottleneck. The rest of your system is just as important. Depending on what you got and what resolution you use a 980Ti may only make a difference in for instance AA. Anyway, don't expect too much.

As above the GPU wont affect frame rates much. I went from a 750ti to a 970 to 1070 and not much difference in fps. Just the load on the card is less and it is not running at 100% all the time. Also it is a little smoother.

You may want to consider a 1070. Same price as 980ti. But newer pascal technology, 8gb and more future proof.

I guess my question will be which model? I looked at amazon line of gtx 980ti and there is a bunch of them. and I do understand that make not be a huge help but hoping it will let me increase some settins

I like the eVGA brand because of the warranty and support they provide...I'm using two of their 980Ti boards in SLI on my primary sim machine.

The 980Ti (or the 1070 mentioned above) is a *massive* step up from that 660...given your system specs you should see a significant improvement in performance in P3D, which unlike FSX, can really take advantage of that GPU.

Just for what it's worth...I've had both a 980ti and a 970 in this box and there was no noticeable performance difference. Nada, none, zero.....
