Which panel state you are using?

For an overwater segment make sure you do a full alignment.

Depends on how long it's going to sit. If it's more than about 30min to an hour (depending on the operator, and location...some airports limit the amount of time you can use the APU), it goes on GPU and the APU gets shut off to save on fuel and reduce noise. If it's absurdly hot or cold, the gate air may not be enough, so the crew might fire up the APU to get the cabin ready a little earlier prior to dep.

Lol I remember in 2010 when every aviation article and airline said Ground Power was only in case of emergencies because its expensive. Now its used like water! Either airlines got richer or APU became too expensive haha

I don't recall that ever being the case.  If you read the airport information pages for just about any airport in the world there are limits to how long the APU can be used due to noise, generally 10 min.
