August 25, 20169 yr I am new to X-Plane but have mightily challenged the learning curve. My son is far away. I am a FAA/CFII and would like to get him started. I intuit that X-Plane lets 1 computer use the IOS suite on 2 monitors, or if 2 computers are physically in the same room, they can split the features on 2 machines connected to the same Wifi Network. Does anybody know if a Windows VPN would allow 2 physically remote machines ....( each with a paid for X-Plane license - each running an X-Plane 10.45 version of the software )... to operate the suite of features found within the Student/IOS module of X-Plane? Maybe it's not a VPN...I have no real idea what the possible alternatives are. Points are awarded for simplest & cheapest! Thank you in advance.....It's a Father/Son thing! It's a Father/Son thing!.....
August 26, 20169 yr Yes this should be possible, there's a thread on X-Plane.org about using X-Plane's built-in multi-player which was designed for LAN play over a VPN. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/74272-x-plane-built-in-multiplayer-works-vpn-client-tunngle-and-others/ The thread is a bit dated, so you might want to start a new thread on the subject.
