August 29, 20169 yr Commercial Member After a long time I was flying a longer flight today, from Tel Aviv (LLBG) to Innsbruck (LOWI) in the SSG 747-800 (X-Plane). It was a very relaxed, mostly unspectecular flight, but shortly before the STAR, the aircraft's FMC became crazy, so I decided to fly the rest of the flight manually. Basically I did some night VFR, which was VERY exciting. But in the end, the landing was good :-) Mario Donick .:. vFlyteAir
August 29, 20169 yr I have and enjoy XPX very much. But I have a serious question. Is it just me or do the XPX cockpit textures look much darker, less vibrant and sharp, than those in FSX DX10?

Is it just me or do the XPX cockpit textures look much darker, less vibrant and sharp, than those in FSX DX10? This particular aircraft's cockpit has a very... "simple" cockpit modelling. Look at the IXEG 737, the FF 767,the LES Saab 340, the JAR A330 or the PMDG DC-6 for how visually great cockpits do look like. Mario Donick .:. vFlyteAir
August 30, 20169 yr This is one of my preferred X-Plane airliners, and indeed hand flying it is, I believe, very believable. It is different ( because of the SAS and Boeing FBW characteristics shared with the 777 ) from a classic 744, but they share much in common as some rw pilots have commented at some of the forums I visit. Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

Thanks for the comment -- I don't know if it's realistic (how should I know? ), but hand-flying this model gives a confident feeling -- that you can trust this aircraft. Mario Donick .:. vFlyteAir
