Issue with Prepar3D website forum

Recommended Posts

Is one thing to explain to you why they removed a topic you posted on their website forum, and is another to just remove it because they didn't like you criticizing an issue you are having with their product. As long as you blow smoke up their rear, they seem to be fine, but if you have a problem and ask for their help to explain an issue you are having with their product, your post disappears without an explanation if they don't have an answer.

I simply posted a screenshot of my sim crash to desktop. I've kept my settings to as close as bare bone as possible, before you start looking like you have FSX or FS9 installed again on your computer, yet P3D crashed on me. I also posted all my hardware on my computer to show that although I don't have the fastest or most expensive system out in the market, it's not a low end system either, so what can be causing this issue? I guess they didn't like to see a crash to desktop screenshot in their forum, and they took it down without a reason or explanation. Starting to feel I'm getting a raw deal purchasing P3D Pro version. All that money spent, and I think FSX was doing a much better job. Perhaps I should have stood with FSX.

There have been several CTD posts in their forum so it must be another reason. If you only posted the screenshot together with your hardware settings thats's a bit too less imo. Posting a CTD screenshot alone is not very helpful, we all know how it looks.

It was more than just hardware and a screenshot. Many of us at some time or another have posted something on a particular section of the forum, and the administrators have sometimes moved it to a more appropriate location, and that's fine as long as you have been given a reason. And if there wasn't enough information posted to give a better picture of the problem, then just requested! But, to just remove it and don't give you a reason, that's totally unacceptable, considering that P3D is not cheap, at least it wasn't for me since I purchased the pro version.

Just post it again and see what happens.

The P3D forum is usually pretty friendly and open to discussion, might have just been a clicking error. Try again, as per above advice. I'd check your Event Manager first in order to try to give as much information as possible about the possible cause.

Have you had a look at the AVSIM CTD guide?

Yes,  I seen the post on the Prepar3D forums.

I would hazard a guess and say the reason why it was removed was because your post was just a screenshot of  "prepar3D has stopped responding"  with no additional Information like,  when, how, Crash report and so on,  Also you did ask the question  "why does Prepar3D crash like this"

Now,  If a potential new customer or customers was looking over the forums and was to see Prepar3D crashing for No reason with No other Add Ons Installed,,,,You know what I'm getting at

Your best bet is to post this Information on the Avsim CDT Forums were Experts like Jim Young can help.

In this link is a small Piece form the CTD guide with a Link to the Actual CTD Guide and the Forums  http://www.avsim.com/topic/492255-my-computer-has-crashed-what-do-i-do-now/

I did post my questions again, but without a screenshot this time. I even ask why can't someone there at least give me a reason why they took my post down, and no answer. Instead, they took that post down too. I guess they want to start a bad reputation on how they deal with constructive criticism. I'm not someone who likes to complain about just anything, and I've been around in the FS arena since 2002, so it's not like I'm ignorant that crashes do happen, but give me a reason is all I'm asking. At least every other forums I've ever posted something, the moderators have given me that much courtesy. They've done it here and every other forum in the web.  Any way, thanks Elaine for that link, I'll give that a look.

I agree with Elaine, just posting a  screen shot of "P3D has stopped responding" doesn't make much sense. You could  have included some details of your system, what were you doing when it crashed or some additional information that wouldn't take a crystal ball to figure out, maybe they wouldn't have taken you post down.

Again, I just didn't post a screen shot, I did include system details. If they thought there was more information needed, the right thing to have done is just say so, and just not blow me off, and delete my post.

Point made. Elaine's suggestion should get you some help. JIC, I'm shutting this down so it doesn't get out of hand.
