RXP GTN750/650

Recommended Posts

Well I hope the P3D version will have crossfill support and that their prices won't be outrageous like F1's. I'll switch if so.

Personally, I think that once they have 64bit versions working, that this is going to be a nice development for the X-Plane platform.

I agree. In spite of some annoyance about the lack of info over the years about whether the RXP GNS 430 I bought would ever be updated. I'd probably buy one of these new ones if they did support 64-bit X-Plane. I might wait to see about cockpit panel integration, but I think it would be a good development for moving X-Plane forward.

However, I think there is a real question here about whether RXP is actively working on a complete 64-bit version internally, or if the situation is more like -- "we'll support 64-bit X-Plane if Garmin ever gets around to a 64-bit update of their trainer." Those are two totally different prospects for a future 64-bit version.

Didn't RXP charge a hefty upgrade fee for crossfill capability in their original package? I seem to recall an upgrade of $99 on top of the original purchase price.

I'm used to the F1 GTN using the Garmin database, but what does this mean (from the RXP manual)?

NavDbType = 1

selects the default database: 0: 'Garmin (North America)', 1: 'Jeppesen (Worldwide)'

Looks like they will be bringing this to P3D as well. I really hope they will have crossfill support unlike Flight1's version.

Does X-Plane version have crossfill support? For either the GNS or GTN units?

I don't think it has crossfill (GTN).  I vaguely recall F1 saying they were doing crossfill for GNS in P3D though.  Of course RXP does crossfill too.

The only thing that could switch me from F1 when the FSX/P3D versions come out is the fact that they appear to use the latest Garmin Trainer.

If not in the aircraft's VC panel can the RXP 750 pop-up be placed on a second monitor?

Is there a chance that it might be produced for a Mac?.....

I don't think so - but I think XP11 will allow this.

I doubt it. It relies on the official Garmin trainers which only run under Windows.
