FS9 inoperative with Windows 10

Recommended Posts

Thanks for all your help Wobbie. I will just have to wait and see if anybody can crack it. I have oceans of memory so it cannot be a blockage in that department.  What amazes me is that when I did eventually get though to Microsoft some time ago the lady said she was not aware that there was any problem with FS 2004 and Windows 10 !!!!!

Ok, maybe one last attempt....

Create a folder in C;\ called FlightSim9

Go to your existing folder where your FS2004 is installed, & copy the whole FS2004 folder, & paste it all into the new FlightSim9 folder

To make it a bit quicker, go here .... http://www.codesector.com/downloads & download Teracopy 3.1

This is a very fast (faster than Windows) copy utility. I've been using it for years!

OK, so now you have a second version of FS2004.

Next.. go to http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library & download the FSX/FS9 Registry Repair tool. Run that, & it will ask where the FS9.exe is. Point it to the NEW folder.

Then, still in the new FS2004 folder, double click the FS9.exe, & check it all out.

If all is good, right-click on that FS9.exe & send to desktop.

Maybe that will work. Give a shout if I explained a bit badly.

If that does not work, then just delete the newly created folder, & use the registry tool again to point to the original fs9.exe

Good luck,

Robin

PS, take it slowly, you will not break anything!
