Approaches not displayed

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I opted for a full IAP to LIRF (ISD scenery for FS9) recently but the full list of runways was not displayed......the northerly runways 34L and 34R were not displayed as options.(16C/34C) is not on the scenery.

The missing runways appear to be in the.csv files (detected OK by makerunways) and they are OK

in the airac files.

Can you suggest why this happened please.

Dave,

All I can suggest is you use an AFCAD editor to check both ends of the affected runways are open and then run the Database Builder again.

Have you checked you have the latest version of makerunways?

You may find ADE (Airport Design Editor freeware) more compatible with newer scenery. Just use the list facilties:

http://www.scruffyduck.org/

You should also check that the date-time of r4.csv in RCv4/data matches the date-time of r5.csv in your FS folder to insure all the data got copied.

Latest makewys is at:

http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/

If you wish open your r4.csv in wordpad, not Excel, and copy the rows for LIRF into a reply here.

I have LIRF from the Italian Design Group I think updated by them. Here is my info from r5.csv in my FS folder which is copied to r4.csv by the scenery rebuild:

Hi David,

ScruffyDuck software is probably better than AFX as Ron suggests. 16C/34C is only used as a taxiway but you probably knew that.

I'm very well thanks. Good luck sorting the AFCAD.

Hi David. You have to be within 15 degrees of the runway heading. Have you altered the default settings? If you have that might explain why no takeoff clearance.

Hi Ray

My A/C is lined up on the centerline for takeoff..........visually.

Which setting to I need to be within 15 degrees of ?

I have not altered any settings regarding the runway headings........they are as per the ISD  AFCAD.

Regards

Turn off ai and see if that makes any difference. Maybe ai have not sufficiently cleared the runway or there is cross ground traffic.

I think you have to have your brakes on while holding for takeoff clearance. I don't think RC4 had rolling expedited takeoffs.

David,

Under Options check the Deviations haven't changed. Heading is the crucial one for take-off clearance. It should be 15.

David,

I don't have access to my PC at present but it's accessible from the main interface. There are only a couple of buttons to choose from. Heading, altitude and speed can be changed. Just make sure heading is 15.

Ray

I guess you mean the RC4 interface/general/deviations/heading.........should be set at 15 ?

Hi David. Yes. It has been known for people to change those which can bugger up RC. If you have 15 for heading the problem lies elsewhere.

Hi Ray

The problem does indeed appear to be elsewhere !

I have followed advice from yourself and Ronzie but to no avail......still no takeoff clearance.

I did get it once or twice.......after takeoff .......about half way down  runway

RC does not appear to know where the AC is.......

Never had this problem before that MakeRwys did not fix the first time it was run.

             Thanks anyway for your help

regards to both

David
