Repetitive Textures - FTX Global

I love my FTX global textures, but often large patches of turquoise tropic coral reefs are symmetrically aligned and very artificial lookng. Anyway to change this? Not sure that Rex 4 will help here, or will it.?

The FTX textures only change the ground as you are probably aware and don't do anything for the water.

 

The same can be said for the REX water textures, the only change the water colors.

 

The problem you are seeing is due to the water class for that area. Water class works just like land class files in that it tells the ground or water what textures to display.

 

Unfortunate there are no payware or freeware water class products around so you would have to modify it yourself using something like SBuilderX.

 

Maybe you could use some different REX water textures that are more subdued to disguise it a bit however.

Basically though waterclass works pretty much the same way landclass works. A landclass products tells the sim to where to display farm, city, rural, residential textures, etc. The waterclass tells the sim where to display deep water, coral reef water, shallow water textures, etc.

 

The problem is just like with landclass, you can get repetitive texture calls where it looks like a checker board.

Probably because it's a very often ignored part of the sim that no one ever talks about and there are no 3rd party waterclass upgrade projects.
