How To Manually Backup Effected Files

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Is there a way to manually backup any files that will be in any way effected by PTA, so I will have all of the default files stored safely.

Last time I tried PTA, it seems to have changed shader files, but when I looked in the folder that was supposed to have all of the original files, it was empty.

I had to re-install P3D, which was good because it was just updated to v.3.4, but I don't want any chance of that happening again.

I liked the results of PTA, but I want to be sure that I can always put P3D back the way it comes out of the box, if I need to.

Thank you,

Bob

Thank you for the info.  That sounds like a program that I would like to have, but I don't see any links showing where to buy it or download it.  It just seems to be telling about it.  Am I missing the link?

Edit:  I Googled and found the program on SDG's website

Thank you.  I appreciate you showing this to me.

Hi!

PTA works with several files in [Prepar3D directory]\ShadersHLSL directory.  Making a copy of entire [Prepar3D directory]\ShadersHLSL directory (with subdirectories) will be enough.

Regards,

Thank you Yuri.  That's what I will do.

Thank you.  I found the program and purchased it.  I haven't tried it yet. If it does what it says that it does, that will be great.  The reviews on Simmarket are really good, so I suppose it will be a good program.
