MD-11 Flies Right of Track after AIRAC update

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I am a long time user of PMDG's MD-11, a beautiful product. I recently re-installed a fresh FSX-SE on my PC, a fresh installation of the MD-11 (I had taken a long FSX break) and updated the AIRAC (cycle 1610 I believe).

The issue:  the MD-11 flies about a quarter of a mile to the right of the FMC track. The heading is correct and there is no 'hunting' for direction or anything, it is just to the right. This offset is constant in any direction and even after intercepting ILS localizer the plane descends into a place just to the right of the actual runway. This did not happen before updating the AIRAC database for the PMDG FMS.

I have not programmed an offset (don't even know how) and the IRS alignment is performed in real time, 10 minutes. I am not running any add-on scenery, the only addons being the MD-11 and FSUIPC.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Dan

Full names in the PMDG forums please Dan.  Download the free registry repair utility from Flight1 and run it as admin, this might fix your problem.

Did the registry repair tool work or not?

FYI - The Flight1 Registry Repair tool does not work on Windows 10. The registry path on Windows 10 is different and the repair tool cannot find FSX.

What is different.  My Windows 10 installation of FSX has a registry entry that is the same regardless of OS... the only change is where I install FSX.  For example, installing an addon that looks for the registry entry doesn't care if it is Windows 7 or 10 so I am curious as to what you found different.

Windows 10 registry key for most payware aircraft is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE_SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node

The Flight1 registry fix didn't help because it only points to the install folder which, as you say, is the same. But to fix payware aircraft such as PMDG/CaptainSIm, those products are in a different location.

What a coincidence, that is the same key as in Windows 7! Assuming of course a 64b OS.
