Status of Prepar3d

I read some threads from back in 2015, but now that a lot more time has passed how is Prepar3d looking? I have FSX (boxed addition and now I'm moving over to steam edition). I am considering switching to another platform especially since the FSLabs Airbus will only charge an upgrade fee for going from fsx to prepar3d. I had a lot of VAS problems with FSX and was really annoyed. Has prepar3d improved substantially over the past year? Is it receiving active updates to make it worthwhile to invest in long term? I bought a ton of content for FSX and I don't feel like paying PMDG twice for the same planes but when there new 747 comes out for prepar3d I could just make the switch at that point and have the 747 and a320 and pick up AS 2016 along with using FTX global. This seems like it would be enough to keep me busy for awhile in prepar3d. Is it worth it to switch platforms at this point? Is the future bright for prepar3d?

You are asking  questions in the wrong forum,  I would ask in the FSX-SE from people the has both , I guaranty you will get different answers. :wink:

I have both fsx steam and p3d 3.4. Vas is about the same on both maybe slightly better than steam. But you can definitely run out if memory flying into complex airports.

I agree with that,  AA in Steam is a lot better, graphics in P3D is superb, on my system Steam + AS16 heavy coverage  performs a lot better than P3D, and no AA issues. There are the good and the bad things in both, so the saga continue :wub:

Is P3D ever making the switch to 64bit and be able to fully use modern hardware?

The benefits of P3D make the platform far superior, the cost is quite a lot considering you may need to rebuy addons but the payoff is definitely worth it. I reinstalled FSX-SE for the FSL320 and I just cannot bring myself to use it because the sim just feels terrible. Prepar3D really is a million miles ahead on everything and once the 747 is out, FSL is out.... You really won't look back.

when will sloped runways come?

already have.been sloped runway airports in flightsims for ages.

only downside is that you can't use AI aircraft .
