Graphic Support

Recommended Posts

Hi. I've recently just made the change from boxes to steam which I do find a lot better in stability. However I've been watching a few flights on YouTube and their graphics were amazing. I mean they weren't building and mesh that look messed up and blurry. I've spent £200$$ on addons such as:

PMDG 737ngx

Ultimate Terrain

Ultimate ground scenery

Aurosoft Heathrow

FsCaptain

Fs2crew 737

Dream team ground services x

My computer specs are

Windows 10 64bit

8GB RAM

Nvidia 7900 3.8GHZ

All drivers are updated and also edited FSX.cfg (only few options edited as instructed by tutorials)z

But I still find FSX to be flat, blurry. Night time lights to be dull? Any tips of how to boost the game so it looks a little realistic? I also own XPlane 10 but i hate it.

What CPU do you have? It may help the more knowledgeable people to formulate recommendations. Oh, and WELCOME!!

The thing is that FSX is 10-11 year old code running DX9 - the DX10 is broken - Steve's DX10 Fixer goes a long way to helping this. Whilst modern games look wonderful and run great, they're using DX12/13 etc. etc /latest drivers etc. and the hardware likes this. FSX is old and broken & cannot take advantage, thus making the PC feel less powerful than it is ;)

Have you followed any setting recommendations given in the add-on software?

Try to use the settings in the AVSIM CTD Guide (see link in my signature).  If properly set up using those settings (and NO tweaks), you will have crisp and clear graphics.  At least I do not see jaggies.  The 'blurries' are only caused by one thing, high settings in the fsx.cfg settings and the display driver (and possibly a badly employed tweak in your config).

Best regards,

Jim
