Best combination of ASN16, ASCA + Rex Texture Direct?

Recommended Posts

Does ASCA give me sky textures or just cloud textures?

I'd spend the money on ENVTEX, especially since it is on sale at Simmarket right now.

REX4 TD w/SC is more than clouds and skies. Chris, this is why I sent you to our link to read about all the features our package affords you.

So, I see that EVNTEX cloud textures will integrate with AS16's ability to dynamically inject new clouds as weather conditions change.  Will REX?

Greetings,

I just updated my sim from ASN to AS16. I used to run ASN with soft clouds. Would you recommend me to move to ASCA? And if so how do I do it ? DO I simply install ASCA and that will replace my soft clouds ?

Best

Same thing I am using right now.  I had used soft clouds for a long time but after AS16/ASCA was released I started using the ASCA clouds along with Full Dynamic setting.  Sim really has never looked better with this combination along with ENVTEX skies.

Full dynamics gives you up to 8 (I think) cloud types in one scene - something which you can't achieve with REX 4 as it has one fixed texture set. Therefore fully recommend above solution - AS16 + ASCA for clouds. As for water I found default to looks best (along with "LOW" setting). For sun Envtex is pretty decent but you can save money and go for sky and sun from URP package by Pe11e. (in PTA forum of P3d)
