What do you use for charts viewing

Recommended Posts

Using Foreflight since it has been launched  years ago. Simply the best tool for real world flying in the US and of course for sim flying as well.

Best addon for this app is FSXflight, which links to P3D or FSX and provides a moving map and AI traffic on the charts. And of course it also includes Easy Taxi - never get lost on big airports ....and last but not least Synthetic vision.

I canceled my Navigraph subscription when they failed to support Pilot2ATC.

Then I found myself using more and more the charts provided by Pilot2ATC which are the same as airnav. But I mostly flight in the US so I do not know how much coverage they have for other regions.

I use FS Kneeboard 2 on an iPad for US and Canadian and I use Navigraph subscription/iPad app for other international airports.  FS Kneepad automatically imports fairly current FAA plates from the internet, and Canada Air Pilot charts are downloaded from FltPlan.com as .pdf and shared with FS Kneeboard 2 via Dropbox.

For the few locations I go to that are not available on Navigraph, I find charts elsewhere (often included with add-on sceneries), and if they're not already .pdf files, I convert to pdf with a print-to-pdf utility like CutePDF, then share the .pdf files with my iPad via Dropbox, and view them neatly organized in EFB form with FS Kneeboard 2.

FS Kneeboard and the Navigraph iPad apps are both found in the Apple Store...the Navigraph app is also available for android at Google Play.  The Navigraph app requires a current Navigraph subscription to work, and FSKneeboard is a one-time purchase ($20 IIRC).

I'd like to see something similar to ForeFlight on Android since I don't own an iPad.

There is - called Naviator

Pricing not bad - and 30 day trial a great bonus - not in the same league as Foreflight - I've got both - but a great app for Android only simmers..

As ever - all the really good stuff USA/Canada only - but does have a very cheap worldwide basic aviation database for others ($15)

Looking at the screenshots here:

It's not that far behind Foreflight these days..
