because for me, its a pain, it adds things to the registry and just generally increases the time taken to actually install it.

 

 

 

Far prefer, for example, the pmdg system

 

Pretty much everything you install (including PMDG) adds stuff to the registry.

 

You click on the F1 wrapper icon icon, enter your details and it installs, In what way is that different to the PMDG system,

 

Oh and try to get your money back off PMDG in 30 days, good luck with that LOL.

well if you guys are happy with it, then who am i to say otherwise! personally im not. software in flight simulation is so far behind the rest of the software industry with regards to this its not even funny!

Very few MODERN and up to date addons now do much better at almost hiding their anti-pirate measures, which is much better for us.  As for Flight1 Wrapper being bad, well that's just laughable, and therefore doesn't even need defending;-) And to compare it to PMDG is even worse. The PMDG installers not only add to the registry, it also ads a 'service' called 'Flexnet' onto your PC that is ALWAYS running.

 

Back on topic....  I would have to agree about the Milviz 737-200 - it's a fantastic addon, and NOT overly demanding of the PC.  The iFly 737 though, I'd have to disagree.  If the OP believes the PMDG would bring down his system, then so would the iFly.  In fact, I get better performance with the NGX than I did with the iFly (before I returned it and got a refund from the BRILLIANT Flight1 system;-))

I am debating between getting the Captain Sim or the Milviz 737.  I don't want anything as complicated as the PMDG.  Any suggestions?

I have both and, to complicate your choice, they each have their own pros and cons;-)

I'll say this though.... I get much better PC performance and less issues (if any) with the Milviz 732. They're very different aircraft, both in reality, and also in the sim.  Both are stunning in the graphics department. It 'FEELS' like the Milviz 732 has a better or more realistic flight model, but i'm no expert.  If i had to choose, it would be Milviz - just;-)

I can recommend the iFly 737. A great model with excellent autoflight and LNAV/VNAV. Also you practically get the full range from 500 to 900s, ERs and BBJs.

It is my go to mid range jet.

ifly from me too. Good selwcton of models and a very complete product with good system modelling. I use pmdg now but own both and if you don't want pmdg then ifly is close.

I had the FSX PMDG NG...  I liked it.  But I don't fly tubes enough to justify the extreme cost associated with the P3D version.  If I know the ins and outs of the PMDG would the ifly be pretty easy to get into?

Ctrl E does not work but you can preset cold&dark and ready to takeoff. These presets work... most of the time in P3D . There is also a short tutorial to start the engines. Not vey difficult.

 

Not as many liveries as the CS 732 and honestly this not the Milviz bird forte. I find them very FS9ish and the wear and tear/dirtiness, inside and outsise, is far too much to my taste, borderline ludicrous.

 

Notwithstanding, this is overall a nice aircraft that I am pleased with. Good FDE as far as I can tell and the CWS/oldish autopilot make her interesting to fly. You don't monitot a computer, you fly.

Ryan, you are correct, if you know one then you pretty much know both apart from the out of sim config screens as they are both detailed models of the same aircraft.

Didn't realise the ifly was so close in price these days.

All systems work in the Ifly 737 just like the PMDG 737.

 

Before changing to the Prosim cockpit suite I had the Ifly 737 Cockpit Builders Edition , based on the same Ifly 737 and my flightsim worked great with a high level of realism.

 

Just like the PMDG 737 tested by real 737 pilots and the flightmodel is build with the help of their advises..
