Alaska in a Ju 52

Recommended Posts

I have to admit that the more I fly in Alaska, the more addictive this gets

Wien Alaska Air never flew Ju 52s, they used Ford Trimotors among other planes in the 1930s in Alaska. But as I have flown Fords fairly often these last days, I slapped the original NC-9418 Wien Trimotor registration on a Ju 52. Now Wien flies Junkers too. Todays trip will bring us from Anchorage to Gulkana (PAGK), which lies some 190 m NE of Anchorage. Our cargo is a load of deer

The old lady takes slowly and gracefully to the skies. The weather forecast didn’t look too bad, but at this time of year you never know in Alaska

The landing was smooth, but boy oh boy, it will take days to get that smell out of the cabin again

Great idea! Next time a load of skunks? You probably won't take a shot of your crew together with the load then, will you Bernd?

Hahaha, Harald. A load of skunks?? That would render the plane forever unusable
