Weird Slew Problem/Plane takes off

Recommended Posts

Doing a fresh install of FS9 on a fresh install of Win7 64. When I exit slew mode, the plane takes off like it was launched off a catapult. The plane is in cold and dark mode, but the engines start up when I exit also. I have the joystick uninstalled also. I found a previous post that suggested that may be the issue, but it isn't. I also hit F1 before exiting, but that doesn't matter either. Didn't happen on previous installs. Anyone have any suggestions?

Usually a contact points issue - did you try another plane?

Try opening your aircraft config file  and in [Contact Points} reduce the value of "static_cg_height = xxxxx". Roy.

use the "A" key before you exit slew

Therein may lie the key:

check your assignments for slewing "down" so the aircraft really is "down" before you exit slew mode!

Appears to be an anomaly. 24 hours later, it doesn't occur. It was happening on multiple aircraft, so going through and adjusting the cfg file would be a pain. All the key assignments are still the default. It's a fresh install. Today nothing. All the years I've had this sim, it never happened before. Just have to wait and see if it occurs again.
