Battery and APU gen sound quesion

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I think that PMDG original sound are the best and most realistic sound but why Battery and Apu Gen sound are only have the click and not have sound like(i don't know how to say it haha) but IMMERSIVE AUDIO - NGX COCKPIT SOUND IMMERSION FSX P3D have it, so i confuse that who is correct ? so i start research in youtube and find the cold and dark video and i found that the battery and APU GEN in the video have the sound like IMMERSIVE AUDIO but not in the PMDG. So i want to know why PMDG got the sound like that or it depend on something that i don't know ? Thank you

So sorry for my bad english :)

Best regards,

Yes the battery sound and APU in PMDG doesn't sound like this...

Do you think  IMMERSIVE AUDIO - NGX COCKPIT SOUND IMMERSION FSX P3D is ok ?

What specific sound are you looking for? I believe that the whine that you're hearing in the background when on batt only (in the linked video, above) is the wall mount GPU. Not the plane.

Best to avoid installing sound packs. Many claim realism, when it's actually far from it.

What about Apu Gen ? it also wall mount GPU? What is wall mount gpu does PMDG have it ?

Thank you for your reply :)

What about Apu Gen ?

What you're hearing in the video isn't the APU GEN. It's the cooling fans, and probably a bunch of noise in the background because the door is still open (sound difference based on the door being open is something you'll kinda hear in our simulation too). My guess is that you just haven't configured the aircraft properly to hear all of that, but the "super immersion" whatever-they're-called sounds were mixed by someone who doesn't know which sound comes from what source (probably for the same reason you seem to be confused: YouTube "research"). As such, when you hit the APU GENs, you're hearing a bunch of fan/pack noise that should only show up when you turn the recircs and packs on.

A wall mount GPU is a box on the wall of the terminal building (or on the jetbridge). Our 777 and 747 kinda have it, but our 737 only has an option for cart-based GPU. You can select them via FS ACTIONS> GROUND CONNECTIONS>. I don't think our wall mount GPUs make too much noise, though (which is not necessarily unrealistic - some generators make more noise than others).

Thank you yes I confuse! Recirc fan I always turn on but the pack is off I will try to turn pack on then hit Apu gen. Does GPU Cart base make noise?

Thank you very much best support:)

Welcome. Yeah, the GPU cart sounds like a diesel engine running outside.

Can I ask you another question ? What aircraft PMDG plan to make next ? (When 747 v2. Finish)

I hear a lot of people talk about 737v3

Not sure   :P

I have add GPU and open Pack and recirc fan but sound is didn't change and i also open the door....

Then your sounds are set up properly. Set a default sound device in your windows and FSX settings.

Neither are difficult to hear.

Caution you may have hidden hardware issues. Only in the past month or so I've realized I've had mono broadcasting in both ears giving the illusion of stereo... I was missing sounds on the left side of the plane, but didn't know about it. It was a hardware issue.

But i think not... You mean speaker issue ?
