You can try to think positive, if you are inclined to.

Perhaps LM is just ironing out the last loose ends in the 3-series, declaring the VAS issue unresolvable within the 32 bit framework anyway and concentring on release of the 64 bit version from now?

Kind regards, Michael

Maybe we should all draw straws, and the one drawing the short straw has to install the hotfix and tell us all what happens.

I will staying with 3.3.5. Hotfix does not appear to address the VAS issues.

Thats some pretty wishful thinking there Michael.

Let me guess.... you want 64bit.

I will give it a try after I have created a system image and a restore point. Who knows there might be a VAS  fix hidden

I do. I just can't imagine LM being fond of the honor making the last 32 bit flightsim sim of the world.

Kind regards, Michael

I will also install it, being brave...(well actually I'll be doing a format next days so no worries :P ). Imagine a hidden big performance improvement but no-one installed it after reading this thread..

So many "VAS Issues"... That's really odd. I have more than 400 airports installed, everything terrain from ORBX and just took off from Vancouver to land in Guadalajara with 900MB free on the ground after passing through canada, LAX, and so on.

Aerosoft airbus, 2560x1440 resolution, flying online... D**n me if i ever get memory issues with P3D.

It's a shame the hotfix does not address VAS directly.

But maybe expecting this from a 32 bit sim is unreasonable.

I won't be installing this one methinks.

I think 64 bit is the way forward-certainly for me-because I fly in VR now and need all the VAS I can get..

X-plane 10 and the upcoming 11 version have got my attention now and I am using X-plane much more than P3D.

I never understood why the problem is VAS. For me, the problem is that the sim cannot properly unload the not-used memory. If they solve this, then we don't need any 64 bit version. Unless I'm missing something..

That's a VAS problem by definition

I mean, the x64 bit platform just uses more memory, but the unloading problem may still be there. You don't get an OOM because you have more headroom. If the 32 bit could only keep in memory the necessairy VAS load any time I suppose it would never be more than 4GB, so no OOM. My comment goes to people who only see the x64 P3D as a solution.

My thinking is pretty much the same as yours.

Important to notice that for those who use Windows 10 and want to upgrade to P3Dv3.4.14, you'll need to update your Windows with the Anniversary Update, otherwise it'll not work, since P3D3.4.14 will require .NET framework 4.6.2.

Cheers, Ed
