FO did not Set MTOP

Recommended Posts

Hello,

in briefing i have set T/O PWR to MTOP.

After startchecklist the MTOP is set, for any seconds,

but while taxi and takeoff procedure the FO set this alwasy back to NTOP 90%.

when i press the MTOP button in the Dash, the FO set it back to NTOP90%.

Can you please tell me the exact point the NTOP 90 is being reset.

That when you press MTOP in the Dash manually without FS2Crew it still goes back to NTOP 90 is interesting.

I'm not sure if this is quirk of the aircraft or what.

Can anyone else reproduce this?

Set in brief: MTOP.

After start i pull the cond. levers to max.

Then i call the AFTERSTART Checklist.

FO set Flaps, POWER to MTOP100%

5 secounds after it goes back to NTOP90%.

i press button for MAXT.O.PWR it set MTOP100%

5 secounds later it goes back to NTOP.

Crew change: DE

So I spoke to the Dash 8 aircraft programmer...

 NTOP is limited by 4 parameters:

Torque  <=100%
Nh <=100%
NL <=100%
ITT <=880

it will be reduced when any of the above parameters reaches its allowed
maximum

 MTOP has a cancellation timer. The logic is:

//  MTOP will cancel if PLs <60 and not in AF test mode >5 seconds

 This is to prevent using MTOP in any other conditions except for emergency

So there you have it.... can you see how you're triggering it now?

I wanted to use MTOP because I wanted to start on a very short runway.

But if for security reasons is not, then not.

thank you...
