How does OpenLC North America compare to Ultimate Terrain X V2?

Recommended Posts

okay... after all this landclass and vector, railroads, waterways, urban and coastal, mixing UTX with FTX....my upstairs is scrambled.

Currently I run GEP3D controlling UTX USA, Canada and Europe, but I also have FTX PNW, N.Germany, Central Rockies + 2 more FTX areas, with FTX airports. All FTX entries are stacked on top of all the UTX entries....seems to work okay.

The landclass from FTX sounds tempting... where would one insert FTX landclass in this mess?

edit* just found this posted by pablo636..

"I've tried to place orbx oc between urban and vegetation to have all the landclass active, but if in Eurpope this combo did a good job, in NA it create some arctifact in some places, so I left the entries between utx urban and vegetation but I've disabled the urban custom and vegetation landclass from utx usa and canada tools."

...........sounds reasonable.

Yep, that might be from my thread i had started not long ago :)  I havent gotten around to digging into the utx tools to do that disabling just yet, but it sounds as if you do that and all should be ok (and may gain some performance).. overall i'm not seeing any real difference as is, with performance/fps with ftxg + LC + utx than before with gep3d + utx.

I'm not having problems with performance.. I should be good to go on that part, it's just that I like everything I own that is FTX and would like to try their landclass, I may just try this out next week.

Thanks for the input.

Curious how you ended up placing things and what you turned off in the UTX app(s)?

DId you open UTX and disable entries under "landclass/waterclass" (LC9 Vegetative, LCX Urban, LUX Custom, WC Waterclass)?  did this also include Streams and Small rivers, or the other Water body coastlines ? Or any other groupings?

Thanks
