[Announcement] Alpha 2

Recommended Posts

support@ is for general product support, alpha@ is for ChasePlane Alpha.

We received it, thank you!

Hate to be pressing, but didnt think fixing my activations is a big deal. It was installed once, so we have a limit of one activation to use before we have to bother you with support?

I would just like to reinstall it again and fly. :)

Kevin and everyone at Chaseplane.. just installed the latest version and I am very impressed. Everything works as promised along with Trackir. No more using joystick programs and scripts. Just start it and go flying....the was it's supposed to be. Outstanding job. Thank you for delivering what you promised. Can't wait to "play" again this evening.

A 360 controller for Windows really helps you get the most with CP.

Will it work with a wireless xbox controller?

Yes it does. I have it. Nothing special to do but you must go and make sure nothing else is binding to the buttons or else weird things happen. Clear them all first. Especially the P3D settings.

On another note: If I could make a suggestion.   The scroll zoom option is awesome. Very easy to zoom like that but obviously it makes it difficult in the VC to use together. Is there anyway this can be controlled like in XP where zoom works beyond its hotspot  like a dial or button? That way when its not near it, the zoom would still work. This may be particular to the xplane models, im not sure but I think that functions in XP by default.

Lots of little more advancements seen in this 1.5. very nice old props team

Hey Everyone!

The last 3 weeks have been great. ChasePlane is getting better and better in great part because of you, the community. Since the Alpha program started Nov. 1st, we released 35 updates, fixing issues reported by the community and adding new features to the platform.

As November comes to an end, we're closing in on a feature-freeze for Alpha 1. That means that we will not be adding new features or fixing non-critical issues until Alpha 2. Some users are still experiencing critical issues with Keyboards, Controllers and with overall performance. We're continuing the work to figure those out and will update as required.

Here's what you can expect by the end of January as part of Alpha 2:

  1. TrackIR integration
  2. Performance improvements
  3. Reorder presets by writing the desired index directly
  4. Saveable presets in Static Mode
  5. Massive improvements on the In-Sim View Selector (+ fix for pointing devices & for HiDPI displays)
  6. Control over the sim's built-in views
  7. Transfer of preset shortcuts when importing from other aircraft
  8. Camera control while in Cinematic Mode
  9. Transition time option per preset
  10. Engine turbulence from inside the cockpit (open canopies)
  11. Virtual doors and walls
  12. Contextual menu in ChasePlane to edit presets
  13. Customizable information overlay including VAS usage, currently loaded preset, save status etc.
  14. Experimental Community features
  15. Simulation Rate support
  16. Sticky Mouse-Look option
  17. Slew Mode detection
  18. Built-in Spot View support
  19. Double-Tap key assignments
  20. Option to minimize to taskbar
  21. Saved Window position
  22. Scroll zoom
  23. Hidden cursor when mouse wheel is pressed and moving
  24. Key Assignments Enable/Disable
  25. Importable camera definitions (built into most aircraft)

Thanks to everyone for their incredible feedback, ChasePlane has already gotten much better because of you and will continue to improve to be the best camera add-on available.

Keep those feedbacks comin'!

Best Regards,

Keven

Im using flyinside with HTC Vive with my p3d v3.4. Will Chaseplane work with alpha 2?

Are there any problems with A2A aircraft walkaround (172, 182,..) or does it work "out of the box"?

There can be, but CP now will fix these for you!

Run CP with your A2A aircraft, in the sim. You should get a notice from CP saying AC misconfigured. Close the sim, then restart the sim, and your A2A aircraft should work fine.

To actually perform the walkaround, I have found a bit of  away to do this:

 - Globally disable CP with middle mouse click when ready to do the walkaround

 - Shift-8 to open the walkaround pop-up

 - This should put you in the on-board camera

 - When you first press the "next" arrow key for moving walkaround places, you will have to right click > aircraft > the 2nd one down

 - Perform the walkaround as usual

 - Globally reenable CP once finished.

Hope this helps!

Max
