Which Flight Sim will be the first to be officially released, XP11, DTG Flight Sim, Aerofly FS 2 (non-beta), Prepar3d 4.0 32 bit or Prepar3d 64 bit? Limited releases and beta releases do not count. Give your rationale.

DTG will be next, but what will come of it is anyone's guess.

Because we all love to speculate about our new toys.  It's the one subject that whips everyone into a froth, every time.

Ok, Erich, I'm in!!  :good:

X-Plane 11 next month (the amount of DVD's will boggle the mind   :Silly:  , as for download the whole world scenery :shok: , then DTG 64bit, then P3D 64bit.

I'll wait for P3Dv5, 128bit.

Not forgetting FlightGear 2016v5 64bit as freeware!

:hi:

Obviously XP11 then DTG FlightSim.  P3Dv4 is a long way away as P3Dv3 was just released (at least a 2 year cycle).  Any earlier would not be fair to those, like me, who paid $199 for each cycle.

Best regards,

Jim

Hi Jim, a few weeks ago, I was chatting to a guy who's company is developing for a 64bit P3D, & he says it is very much in the pipeline. His company develops very complex aircraft add-ons for the sim, for corporate as well as non corporate users. So, maybe their corporate market is already beta testing?

I have always regarded version updates, NOT the v.1, .2 etc's, as separate & different sims. (such as Office 2013 & Office 2016)

:shok: This hobby is starting to cost a fair amount of money now  :cray:

But wasn't P3D v3.0 released in September 2015? That's over a year ago.

Earlier this year, we announced the development of our new flight simulator, which generated an incredible amount of excitement in the community. We would like to thank you all for the tremendous amount of interest and support we have received so far.

Based on your feedback, we have been focusing on three key areas: visuals, performance and experience, all of which are instrumental to the hobby. In order to further enhance these areas, we have made the decision to postpone the release of this project.

In the meantime, we expect to have a detailed development update for you in the New Year. As a team, we are incredibly excited to share what we have been up to! Until then, we hope you have a fantastic holiday season and look forward to making 2017 a great year for flight simulation.

Yes, Sep 30th so next version should be in/around September 2017 (if there is a new version).  I believe they are going by the same release schedule developed by Microsoft - FS2000, FS2002, FS2004, FSX (in 2006).

Best regards,

Jim

Well, XP11 is in beta as is Aerofly FS 2. DTG FS has been postponed until 2017 and LM has hinted about a "surprise" in 2017. Still no winner.

you better have a thick wallet if you use dovetail anything, their train sim will nickel and dime you to death, x-plane 11 will be finished first in my opinion

XP11 is in a "soft" release state already, since you can buy the full v11 beta and it's feature-complete, just ironing out a few bugs.

After three public betas I'd say it's very, very close to what the final release will be. They announced a Steam release in February so it won't be long if you need the official final version.

Well, let's see... time for an update as we are a month and a half down the road from the original post in this thread. Aerofly FS 2 is gaining some traction as ORBX has jumped aboard, but it's still in some kind of "early access" beta release. XP11 is up to beta 5 and bugs are being ironed out with each new release.Unfortunately,  ORBX has jumped ship on XP11 for now at least. No news still on DTG Flight Simulator. And as for a new version of P3d:

It is January and at least here in the Northern Hemisphere, the molasses is barely flowing.
