November 28, 20169 yr Short answer: With the release of KATL, it's my opinion that Imaginesim moved up to the category of quality large airport developers. I was not a fan of Imaginesim scenery prior to the launch of KATL V2, but I am now. They also did a great job with KLGA, which I also covered in the short review during the web conference. Thanks Dave. I'm going to give KATL a pass. The framerates others are reporting is just too low. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. November 28, 20169 yr Commercial Member It's a bloody huge airport, and Imaginesim did it in detail, so one does indeed need to have a good system (that's tuned up) in order to enjoy the experience there. I'd like to add that I focus on a fluid experience (no freezes or stutters) over frame rates, particularly important at really large airports. A terrific alternative is an up dated AFCAD (with the Victor taxiway) and using REX Worldwide Airports HD !!! In fact, it's an AMAZING! Best wishes. November 28, 20169 yr I tried their KATL and KLGA demos on my i7 [email protected] and GTX 980 and even with most features off and AI traffic off I was not impressed with the frames. The airport quality looks great but the performance is just to destructive for heavy iron flyers in my opinion, unless you don't mind low 20's / high teens. I do. Smoothness means nothing if its a smooth slide show. I'll just keep using this really nice freeware KATL. At least the jetways work there. I saw no moving jetways at Imagesim's KATL. Jetways.. not working in 2016... unforgivable sin for a payware airport imo especially with SODE around now. November 28, 20169 yr Commercial Member Smoothness means nothing if its a smooth slide show. Just a small point my friend, I think it's impossible to have a smooth slide show, I'd define that as suffering freezes or some major form of stutters. I don't suffer either at this scenery. Specs and settings in my previous post. Oh... Jetways worked just fine for me, so I'm certainly don't understand what sin you're talking about? There was an update for the scenery that resolved jetway issues - however it was the SODE developers that caused problems with a number of airport sceneries, not the scenery developers. EDIT: I just booted into KATL V2 and operated the jetways... screen shot below. Just want to keep reporting accurate. I have no vested interest in Imaginesim, but I consult for and advise a number of FS developers and I've performed FSX/P3D tech support for a very long time and I can say that all things being equal, people have exactly the same issues at other very large airports. My very best wishes to you! December 5, 20169 yr I tend not to pay too much attention to frame rates providing FSX performs smoothly, but I generally find that heavy VAS usage sometimes tends to be a more troublesome feature of some large (and indeed some not so large!) airports. Could anyone comment on the VAS impact or otherwise of KATL V2? Bill
