Hi guys, In the next few days i am going to gradually buy new hardware for FSX. I'm currently running...

AMD FX6300 @4.4ghz

Nvidia GTX 960 2GB

1TB HDD

16GB DDR3 @1800mhz.

The new build will be...

Intel i7 6700K

Asus Z170 Pro gaming

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB DDR4 3000 MHz CL15 XMP.

GTX 960 2GB

I am thinking of getting an SSD for FSX steam but have a few questios.

1) what benefits does an SSD have in FSX steam?

2) is it easy to transfer windows 10 to my new PC?

3) I have well over 20GB add ons for fsx on my hdd, can i transfer them over or will i have to re download them all?

4) Because I have FSX steam does that mean I have to reinstall steam and FSX onto the SSD?

5) final question wink.png... I run UT2 at 35% and Fly UK traffic at 20% along with ORBX regions, 737 NGX, PMDG 777, Aerosoft EGLL and captain sims 757 and 767. Im not expecting to get 100fps with these add ons but would the new hardware come close to giving me a smooth flight? especially from EGLL?

Its not 4am... lol, I think ive googled everything i can but still cant find the answers sad.png hoping someone can help.

Check out Holdit's thread.  Your 960 would be similar in performance to the 1050 he was looking at.

A 6600k with a 1060 or ideally a 1070 would be better

(1) SSD will make reading files a lot faster, so FSX will start faster and scenery will load faster. But basically there won't be any fps difference.

(2)(3)(4) You can just remove the old hard drive and put it on the new computer. If you want to switch to SSD, use a disk cloning software to clone the entire hard drive. No file will be lost and there is no need to reinstall anything.
