X-Plane screenshot png file format

It saves out as a png is there a way to have it save out as a bmp ? thanks

Screen shots were .png format in XP10, so I doubt that will change.

 

It's a lossless, compressed format that preserves the image quality while being significantly smaller in file size than BMP files. Less space on your hard drive and easier to share online.

You  could download free Irfanview which has some vry useful editing functions and allows conversion to jpg in various sizes.  A great program.

PNG is a lossless compression format. It's the same as a BMP with smaller size (quality-wise).

I just print screen and open in CS2

 

Then I save in jpeg - low file size and good looking

Thanks Guys aware of file formats but thought bmp may be better quality but I guess they are about the same - no biggie - will try your method Ryan and compare them to X-Plane versions - thank you
