XPX & xEnviro first test flight

Recommended Posts

Guest Mik75

Hi there!

Earlier today, I did a short first full flight with xEnviro while streaming.

It is not a review or a first impressions video (and not a video about proper aircraft handling as well, as one can clearly see during approach and landing ;-) ), it's just a short flight out of LOWI with a few very nice moments, and some situations that show the problems of this plugin in its current state.

Thanks for watching!

Hmmm, no interest in a full flight with xEnviro in X-Plane? ;-)

Well, that's what I usually fly... ;-)

I had 3 or 4 more full flights in the meantime, and something spectacular (at least to my eyes) happened on every single flight! So cool...

I want clouds to be what the METAR or the other sources of wx info throw at the sim.  That is close to reality clouds placements and different clouds, I don't know if ASN or SMP or if Xenviro does.

You could try a flight right now @Surabaya Juanda because it lies in the equator and usually has bad weather.  And NOAA report shows TS so do expect a thunderstorm

Right now, I have no time to fly...

But in the upcoming stream /video, I'll superimpose the METARs, so one can see how close (or not) the sim gets to reality.

METARs in the USA and some other places in the World ( mountainous areas for instance ) are good, but they are a very limited source of data in most of Europe, with the low

sector altitudes...

ASN, and as far as I was told by the authors, X-Enviro too, use additional info to cope with that and other limitations.

@Mik75 i meant try the areas having bad conditions matching the real world.

This is Surabaya Juanda real weather.

Not intending to to say that FG is better i am just trying diff sims in the same scenario.

I'lll give it a go as soon as I come home.

Testing various locations with different bad wx METARs, describing bad weather, is something I've already tested on day one (with the help of badbadweather.com), and the results were quite convincing.
