Hi,

Looking at treating myself to a new GPU (currently running through onboard). Not looking to spend more than £350, £400 max (at a push) and like the look of some of these I came across on Amazon, but not really sure what to go for other than Nvidia based:-

ASUS Turbo GTX 1060-6G 6GB = ~£240

ASUS Strix GTX 970-DC20C-4GD5 = ~£270

MSI GeForce GTX 1070 ARMOR 8GB = ~£395

Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 1070 G1 8GB GDDR5 PCI-E = ~£400

Does brand make any difference?

Just for some info, I am currently running an i7 6700k on an ASUS Z170 M/B with 8GB RAM and using FSX:SE, but want to move to P3D + XP11 in the future.

Any thoughts and input would be greatly appreciated.

I went from a GTX770 to a 1070 and found that it's total overkill for P3D with 3 1080p displays. It performs pretty much the same as my old 770 except that it is less stressed (around 30% usage at medium settings and payware addons). If you're aiming at 4k resolution a 1060 should be more than enough if you only do flight simming, otherwise it's a waste of money.

As for XP11 I'm not sure if it's as CPU bound as P3D is..
