You say you downloaded ENVTEX plus the others and P3D ver. 3?? did you even install P3D and run it alone first to see if it works. Stating that you have error boxes all over the place, tells us nothing.

I locked it because with just a LITTLE effort you could have found the answers you were looking for. You asked basic questions that we all asked and there are several sticky threads covering the basic and some of the more complicated stuff.

Now you seem to have a  further problem that maybe we can help with so let' see how this thread goes -

Exactly what did you do to make the change over. Which add ons?

yes, i did run p3d v3 and it loaded fine. the messages i am getting are unhandled exemptions, and with active sky it says asconnect version is wrong because that version is for p3d v3 which I have so not sure what that's all about. Most problems come from programs telling me it cant find p3d and airplanes, scenery... even though I point them to the location where p3d is. i also installed one airport which installed to my p3d folder and then I active it in the scenery library and nothing shows and I exit p3d to be sure and still nothing. i am completely lost now and everything seems really different but looking the same.

lol, @vgbaron, why did you delete all of the other posts in this thread?  Seemed like a legit discussion?

Because complaining about locked topics and the reasons for it is a violation of the Avsim TOS and I'd rather not have to suspend users. They said their piece and I removed same after a bit - now we move on. I've also moved a post by the OP in another thread to keep it on topic.

Hopefully we can help him.

Tell us a bit about how you have your system configured. Did you uninstall V2? Did you do a FULL install of V3 or just install the client? The full installer is about 10G and you need to run that ONCE. After that you only need to update sections as necessary.

Are you using AS16 or ASN? Do you have the LATEST version installed and do you have the P3D version - the FSX version will not work in P3d.

We need more info.

yes, i uninstalled v2 completely. downloaded the full installer for p3d v3. I restarted the computer and then installed p3d v3. it is installed to the d: drive under preapr3d v3. (D: prepar3d v3). Then tried my new addons and here we are.

I don't think 3.3 is available for download anymore.  Do you have 3.4?  Could that be the issue?

Did you install the add-ons as Administrator?

oops, I don't think I ran it as an administrator but i am not sure, i thought i was an expert at it. What should I do? can i unistall and then run it as administrator?

I did get aerosoft milan to show up and it's working but that's it so far. I installed p3d v3.4 outside of the c drive like recommended but it seems like no installers find that folder.

No need to uninstall P3d. I suggest running as Admin while you're checking things out. But installing the Add-ons as Admin could be important.

Could you be more specific about which add ons you installed and which are working? It sort of sounds like you installed P3D, ran it once to see if it worked and then just started with the addons.

I suggest installing addon as admin and then running p3d to see if it took.

i only have aerosoft milan airport scenery and that does work. So if it's better to start over again as administrator then I only need to download one scenery again instead of 100! I "installed" active sky 16, stb, envtex, and acsa but none of them work and I am wondering if it's the administrator thing but i never had to deal with administrator in v 2.5.  I also have other folders in my D: drive outside of the prepard v3 folder. In version 2.5 everything is installed into the v 2.5 folder.

LM changed the structure of the folders so that users could install updates without having reinstall al the add ons every time. Taking them out of the main P3D folder was the start.

Yes, I'd suggest uninstalling the addons and reinstalling them. I'd start with any program type addons like AS16/ASCA. Then get that working and then try another. I would also only install a few sceneries at a time, checking in between until you feel you have a stable install.
