Virtual Airlines for X-Plane

Recommended Posts

As an X-Plane convert from FSX/P3D, I'm looking to get involved in a VA that is exclusively for X-Plane.  I tend to like VA's that are flexible in when and what you fly as I like shorter flights in smaller aircraft- mostly "low and slow" rather than airliners.  Do any long-time X-Plane pilots have any favorites that they can share?

I would suggest looking at Worldwide Virtual. It's not X-Plane exclusive, but it's fully supported. You can pick a scheduled flight and use any aircraft you have, or you can set up a charter flight to and from wherever you want.

Another option would be FSEconomy.

I personally fly for Deltava, Worldwide Virtual (when I want to use a plane that I can't fly with DVA) and FSEconomy for GA and Heli things.

Welcome to X-Plane Rick.

I haven't had a chance to fly with them for a while, but I am part of ZonExecutive, which seems to be what you are looking for. They have actual routes, as well as the ability to fly any aircraft anywhere.

I fly with vAMSYS on all three sims FSX SE, P3D and X-Plane. There are three VA's in one, all expertly set out and run, well worth checking out.

I fly X-Plane and P3D with deltavirtual.org.

Both platforms work very well.

I fly in FSEconomy, which is a free VA  aimed at charter ops for smaller GA planes up to biz jets. No airliners except as hired pilot, and that's not really the focus of the game. I use it to send me to interesting places as a bush pilot.

You rent or lease planes to start off, then (optionally) you can use virtual money to buy your own planes and FBO's at airport locations. Or just keep renting and flying wherever you want. I currently "own" a Turbo Goose based in the PNW and a Bell 412 based in the UK. It supports X-Plane, although we're in a minority among FSX/P3D pilots over there. The client works with the current XP11 beta. Very friendly community on the forum.

One thing to note is that the FSE game runs on the old FS9 airport database, and that won't change (because people own virtual FBOs at those locations). Since X-Plane data is newer and constantly updated, it sometimes means finding changed ICAO codes, or just not taking an assignment if the airport doesn't exist any longer. It's not a big deal since major airports don't usually change names or codes, and you can work around it for the smaller airfields.

Side note: this can be fixed with Matthijs/MH1212's FSE runways package. He is the author of the prefab airports package and xOrganizer. More info here: http://www.4xplane.nl/fse-runways/
